About

We are a group of people in Southwest Florida, who believe that Hinduism, the world’s oldest religion, embodies eternal values (Sanatan Dharma) relevant to all individuals who seek answers to life’s problems and mysteries.

In 1990, a group of people started with prayer meetings in individual’s homes. As the community grew, funds were raised for the purchase of land. After much effort land was finaly purchased in 2004 and the group gathered on the land to pray in an outdoor Temple.

Finally in 2008, sufficient funds were raised to begin construction of a 8,500 sq ft Temple. The ground breaking ceremony took place on 20 January 2008, an unusually chilly day for southern Florida.

Thereafter, construction started in ernest and it was decided to install 3 deities : Shiva Parivar, Ganesh and Sri Krishna. Expert Shilpis in India worked on each section of the granite mandaps designed by Padmashree Muthia Stapathi for the deities. The mandaps were then assembled on site. After a 3 year wait the 8,500 sq ft Temple building was finally completed and Pranapratishta / Kumbhaabhishekam took place on 11 June 2011.
