Canal Alliance exists to break the generational cycle of poverty for Latino immigrants and their families by lifting the barriers to their success.

Results: Canal Alliance is a nonprofit champion of immigrants who are challenged by a lack of resources and an unfamiliar environment. The agency has been the leading service provider and community advocate for Marin's extremely low-income Latino immigrant community since 1982. Every year, we collaborate with over 40 agencies and engage hundreds of volunteers to serve more than 4,000 Latinos and their families. Our primary strategy is to help Latino immigrants access education and legal services, both of which have been shown to improve outcomes related to employment and income, and combined, have the greatest impact on improving economic outcomes for immigrants. Because the clients we serve face many challenges and barriers to accessing education and legal services, Canal Alliance also provides support services, including direct social services and referrals, immediate needs assistance, and behavioral health services.
